A review of Thomson Three by UOL
Located just minutes walk to Upper Thomson MRT and behind Thomson View Condo, it is perhaps one of the few condos on a hill, hence giving a vantage view of the landed property surrounding it, save for Thomson View.
Thomson Three is a 99-year leasehold condominium development located at 21 Bright Hill Drive in District 20. This project was completed in 2017 and it stands 21 storeys tall and comprises a total of 445 units.
Almost directly Opposite Thomson Three is Thomson Plaza which has been around for Decades serving residents in the area. Thomson Plaza belongs to a era of shopping centers that were built in that era and bore the name of Plaza. At the top of my mind, will be Plaza Singapura in Dhoby Ghaut, Orchard, Bukit Timah Plaza in Upper Bukit Timah, Coronation Plaza in Bukit Timah.
Unlike other shopping centers as they were known previously, especially Starta Titled Shopping centers which may be dying a slow death, Thomson Plaza managed to revived itself as when underwent a face life in the last 2 years. Inside Thomson Plaza, if you are observant, you will notice that one side of the mall is renovated while the other side remains slightly dated. The reason being one side is owned by the property arm of NTUC, Mercatus.
Hence as a Strata Titled Shopping Center , Thomson Plaza has done relatively well and managed to stay ahead of the game compared to other shopping centers. Adding to the fact that residents residing in that area may not warm up to the idea of getting their daily needs such as Groceries from another area, such as Bishan. If you reside in Upper Thomson and need to get your groceries from Bishan, it may not be a productive trip.
From the 6 bids received by URA for Government GLS (Government Land Sales) program, it can be said your the investor sentiments remains positive strong.

At the top of my head, Residents in Upper Thomson may be able to experience a combination of benefits which other owners in other areas may not be able to experience.
- The Nature Reserve also known as the lungs of Singapore and the many trails it offers.
- A variety of Eateries from Chinese, Indian, Japanese and of course Western Food
- Desert in the form of Udders, Coffee Bean, etc
